The Drift short is aimed at DH, Freeride or bike park abuse. Built to last and packed with features and fabrics to keep you dry on the wet days and cool on the hot ones. Lighter and bright
The material used for these shorts is a lot thinner. It's lighter, but I don't think that it would hold better in a abrasive crash. But still great shorts for DH and just all around coolness.
