What should be the Ring OEM Mount
If you are reading this review, you too know the shortcomings of the Ring Spotlight Cam mount. I need the camera to sit at a 45 degree angle and to power downwards in order to have the motion sensor parallel to the ground. Absolutely impossible with the Ring OEM mount. I found the metal mount here on Amazon and it works very well. In addition to allowing me the 45 degree angle and downward tilt, the mount extends farther from the mounting wall, which increases my viewing angle. The pros are the improved mounting angles, stable frame, and the more-than-reasonable cost. The two cons that I found are that the mounting holes are not the same position as the Ring mount, which means that you have to drill more holes into your house. The second con is that you lose the use of the star security screw. In conclusion, I am very happy with the mount and recommend it if you are frustrated with the Ring OEM mount.

Just what I needed.
I needed to relocate my Ring camera which meant that I needed to change the camera angle. This mount worked out perfectly. It does take two hands to align the camera since you have to hold the camera with one hand while tightening the screw with the other. Once installed, it has not moved and does exactly what we needed. Highly recommend. I caution you to pay attention to the description to make sure that this device (or one like it) will fit your camera. I made that mistake the first time...If you are wondering, the back plate on your camera slides off and a new adapter slides in place that attaches to the threaded end of this mount. There is a jamb-nut on the threaded piece to hold the camera firmly.

NOT compatible with Spotlight Plus Solar
This mount says it is compatible with the Spotlight Solar camera, but it is not. The mounting panel that it comes with (and forces you to use) blocks the USB-C port on the Ring camera! Nonsense design.I used a drill to expand the hole on the back of the panel to allow the USB-C cable to fit. I also had to cut away the bottom of the panel to make it fit on the back of the Ring camera. Not pretty.But after making those DIY changes, it seems to work well enough. So 3 stars for a passable product that requires significant modification to use as the description states.
