Ethics + Quality = Fantastic Product
For almost as long as I can remember I have swooned over the delightfully punk boots that are Dr Martens. Durable, comfortable and fashionable, DMs have a reputation for being some of the best boots on the market with only one problem: they are made from leather, or in other words, the skin of a dead animal. Years after Dr Martens pulled their original vegan line, the non-leather boot is back but apart from the tiny phrase 'Suitable for Vegans' printed on the insole, it's almost impossible to tell that these are made with entirely man-made materials. I've even had a few comments along the lines of "I didn't think vegans wore leather shoes" before I was able to explain that they were imitation. The same thing goes for durability and comfort: the boots feel and act as if they were made from real leather but with the added bonus of a shorter wearing-in period. As far as fashion goes, the boots maintain the classic DM look but with a few subtle differences from their leather counterparts such as the gold eyelets rather than black and a slight two-tone effect which are both nice touches. At a similar price to the leather versions I would recommend these to anyone, vegan, vegetarian, omnivore or space alien, because they are simply wonderful. Thank you Dr Martens for bringing ethics and quality together, it's just a shame there aren't more colours available or I would be buying several more pairs.

Wow
Gorgeous vegan docs, all faux fur lined so smart and cosy, great underfoot in the ice and snow. Love them and cruelty free too. Fab.

Love them
I bought the DMs primarily to accompany a heavy, vintage greatcoat I purchased. However, I have only stopped wearing them as I can't make them fit in with my work attire! Comfy, gorgeous looking and brilliantly put together. They arrived exceptionally quickly and were well packaged. The little tags stating "vegan" on them are cute, as is it's reprinting on the inner sole. I wasn't surprised as to the quality of them - they're DMs and vegan, my other half has some nice vegan boots (she is the true vegan in our relationship) which was the reason behind me getting these (my coat isn't vegan - it's hard to find a 70+ year old WWII coat which wasn't wool!!). Couldn't recommend them highly enough, and my non-vegan co-workers who saw them on Friday complimented them without realising

Boots boots boots
These boots are for your feet, not your hands. I looked like a fool walking the streets on my hands! They are comfy though! Bit too big so I had to go down a size!

Veggie Docs are back!
After my last pair of veggie Docs were accidentally thrown away by a 'friend' in 2006, and I found out they'd stopped making them, I thought that me and Dr Martens were forever parted. But they're back! They're proper Dr Martens, made by the company themselves (albeit overseas I believe, rather than in Northampton. And they're vegan, even down to the glue.Comfy as ever, really well built, a treat for your feet.Shoes, for me, are usually utilitarian things that stop your feet getting damaged and give you extra grip. Veggie Dr Martens boots are probably the only pair of shoes I'd ever get remotely excited about - but here I am writing a 5 star Amazon review about mine ...

Bought for a birthday present
Delivery was quick and look great no problems I got them through amazon due to convenience and delivery on prime. The price was just slightly lower than doc Martin site. These are expensive for vegan docs but I know they are what she wants for her birthday so very happy. I'll know more when I give them to her and be able to write another review. Looking at packaging and boots they look good!

Walking on air
I have always loved Dr Martens but, as a vegetarian, increasingly unable to justify purchasing leather footwear. In the past non leather boots could be plasticky or rubbery in appearance with a lack of breathability. However the technological advances in the materials used has made this a thing of the past and this is very much the case with these boots. They are undistinguishable in appearance to leather and comfortable and light to wear. As my college days are long gone I was slightly concerned at the potential brightness of the cherry red so a little relieved to find that the actual colour is nearer to a burgundy. I can recommend these boots to carnivores and herbivores alike.
