Mornflake Fine Oatmeal Stoneground 500 g (Pack of 12)

My Mum used to make Blakey's fine oatmeal which I remember fondly.This has the same consistency being finely ground oatmeal and I am thoroughly enjoying it.It is very quick and easy to make and I have had this for breakfast every day since I received 2 months ago.Being diabetic I find it helps control my blood sugar and gives me energy for the day.It will probably reduce my cholesterol level too which is a bonus.I do recommend this oatmeal.

have been buying this from tescos(dont boo)now in their wisdom they only sell their own brand oatmeal(at double the Mornflake price too),nothing like giving the public what THEY want eh tescos.this Mornflake oatmeal (fine ground) is the best in the UK a firm based in Crewe that have been making oatmeal for hundreds of years,so they know what its all about//.delivery was super quick.3 days from ordering to receiving,well packed as well in a sturdy box i now have enough to last for the winter and have a smile when i drive pass tescos!.

There are indeed some very small stones (hence only 4 stars) but they are few and when I sense one in my mouth I'm careful not to bite down on it. :-)I eventually found out the best way to cook it thanks to an Indian lady cook on Youtube. She used a one and a half pint pyrex jug for two and a half minutes in the microwave. Soak the oatmeal overnight in the jug (I add currants and leave the whole thing in the micro ready to go in the morning).I'm just re-ordering and taking this opportunity to write my review.

The product itself is good BUT the best before date of Nov 2018 is not what I expected. The last order had a date of 8 months which was a little short. overran by 2 months but use 12 packs in 4 to 5 months? Not impressed

Excellent value and swift delivery.

arrived well packaged and good price, however, I find it too gritty and not what I anticipated. It makes good porridge but no good for flapjacks and bread making.

We found some tiny black stones in the porridge.Not just in 1 pack either - we consumed 5 packs and found stones in 3 of them!!.First two times we thought it was just oats not cooked properly as we had a quick look and couldn't find the stones but 3rd time we sifted properly and discovered small black particles in the porridge.

If you prefer oatmeal porridge to the 'standard' rolled oat product, this is easier to prepare and just as tasty as medium oatmeal. It is also easier to cook in a microwave.
