Our only sourdough starter food and significant portions of sourdough bagel recipe. Good stuff. Cannot beat it for feeding your starter .

Worth the Money
Using this in sour dough bread recipe as it cuts down the gluten from white flour. Working great and thank you. Some items are harder to find locally, so will continue with my wonderful Amazon searches. Smells like rye, tastes like rye, and turns into wonderful bread.

Works good to feed my starter culture and add flavor to my sourdoughs
I like to feed my starter culture a variety of complex wheats with some of the bran and germ still in the flour. This flour works great for that and it really helped liven up my starter culture for sourdough. I usually add about 50g of this to my sourdough boules and it helps add a little more flavor to the bread.

Use this for your sourdough starter
For some reason we had the hardest time getting our sourdough starter up and going. We probably killed 5 before one stuck. The only thing we changed was switching to this rye flour and by golly it's incredible. I also love the depth of flavor it gives. In 4 years of sourdough tho, I've never had a starter this active and strong!

Great for Making Rye Bread
The King Arthur Medium Organic Rye Flour is fine. I like the rye bread I make in my bread machine, in which this rye flour is a key ingredient, of course. I also appreciate the fact that King Arthur packs the flour in a tough bag with a "ziploc" seal. That surely helps keep the flour fresh, especially important because the "best by" date on the package for my latest delivery is just nine months from the date I received the package. I keep the flour sealed in the refrigerator for months and have never had a problem with it.
