Can't live without this
I have used one of these every day for years, this is a replacement for another I had for years. It is easy to use and helps make my hair look thicker, gives it body and bounce. I wouldn't be without one of these, so I have a reserve just in case the one I use breaks down.

Best hair tool I have ever used
This is the single greatest hair tool I have ever used. I have been using some version of this since approximately 2010. My old one broke a few months ago (after using it daily for years) and I couldn't find this device in Australia where I now live, so I bought a Dyson air wrap instead. The Dyson doesn't even compare, what a waste of money. I have ordered another Babyliss BigHair (my third or fourth one now) from the UK site as well as a plug converter. I just did my hair and it looks as good as ever. This is very gentle on hair, no damage, creates a beautiful blow out that lasts. I can't live without it. I don't normally write reviews, but I', writing this one as not many people have heart of this product - I hope people continue to buy them as I never want them to stop making these!

which I think should be renamed as It would be really easy to buy it by accident
I am the biggest fan of babyliss big hair products (though they seem to have brought one out that doesn't blow hair dry too, which I think should be renamed as It would be really easy to buy it by accident.). If I get even a hint mine is about to conk out I buy a new one. Nothing controls my hair as well as this. If they ever stop making it I will have to stockpile as many as I can afford.I have thin, but really fine semi curly/frizzy hair. Im not one for straighteners as I like a bit of body and bounce and the babyliss big hair gives you that, especially if you have some layers in your hair.. I usually get the standard barreled one, then last time got the one with changeable large and medium barrels. This is a good option if like me you can go ages between cuts.My latest haircut is a lot shorter, layered to about the shoulders. Though I think the petites were intended for shorter hair, I hoped I might get a tighter curl out of these. And I do! In fact my hair still looks fine the next day with the petite, more so than it does with the bigger barrels. I use john frieda frizz easy mouse plus an oil product on my hair after washing. I then use a hair dryer to get it almost fully dry before using the big hair (It takes way too long if you do it from fully wet, though it does still give good results, you dont need to waste so much time). From the point I put the hair dryer down after drying it off, to finishing using the big hair is less than 10 minutes once you get the hang of it. Im rubbish with other hair devices, like the secret curl, wands etc but this is easy to use.I find that I do have to concentrate more when using the petite as it is easier to get your hair tangled if you dont pay attention. It really grabbed my hair the first time I used it and I had to slow down a bit, and feed less hair onto it. Like all big hairs I have previously bought, it seems to take a couple of uses to get going. Its hard to explain but they feel a bit jerky on the first use or two. I think its because you get used to using ones with somewhat flattened bristles, so when you get a new one it just doesn't feel right at first. The bristles on this petite seems to have flattened really quickly and the hair isnt being brushed between the bristles, its more going over them. Its possible this has always happened and I haven't noticed. This one certainly has bristles that look as splayed as the one I bought previously which Ive used most days for 2 years.Keep any receipts and check returns options if they conk out before 12 months. I have had 3 of these over they years that haven't lasted a full 12 months. This has been with almost daily use though, which I guess is a lot, but they should last longer. On all three occasions I had kept the receipt and boots replaced all with a new one. Im hoping I'll get the same service from Amazon if it happens with this one.So for all the quirks of this device, nothing makes my hair look as nice. And from now on, after trying the petite, I think I will always need a petite version and a regular to hand, unless babyliss make another with 2 barrels, one of them being the petite and one a regular sized one.

Blo drying made simple + reliable manufacturer's 2yr guarantee - Which I've used!
With this wonderful product I can actually blo-dry my hair so it almost looks blo-dried in a salon! (Almost, but not as good as my lovely hairdresser). It has a 50mm diameter barrel with bristles and 3 heat/speed settings. On 2 of the heat settings (hot & hotter) the barrel will spin in the direction of whichever button you have pressed (clockwise or anticlockwise) - see photo 2.You soon get the knack of knowing which direction button to press. The trick is not to panic if you get the wrong direction, but calmly remove your finger from the button - and then press the other one to smooth everything out fine! (Sounds silly for me to say that but it can be tricky when your're looking in the mirror!) The third setting is cool air, to 'set' a curl or wave in place; for this setting the barrel does not rotate. Using this the waves do stay set a lot longer & with more definition. There is a 'cap' to protect the bristle brush part when not in use or travelling. (In 1st photo). Loose hair will get entwined around the barrel brush which needs to be cleared regularly. There is also a filter at the handle-end to keep clean - all explained in the leaflet supplied (see 3rd photo).Update: 26.02.17: It comes with a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee which works, as my barrel stopped turning in its 2nd year. I contacted Babyliss directly and although I had to pay for its return, they provided me with a new one under the Guarantee. This now has the remainder of the original Guarantee period, plus an added 6 months.I'm completely reliant on it & looked a mess while I waited for the replacement to arrive! But I've downgraded to 4 stars because I can't help feeling that due to the moving parts, plus the fact that you can't remove the barrel for thorough cleaning, that trapped hair is always going to strain the motor eventually - I can't imagine it lasting as long as my normal hairdrier, for instance. (I also had a previous, similar Babyliss barrel drier which died just after the guarantee period)..It is nevertheless a super drier and hair smoother, and avoids the feeling of needing 3 hands! It saves your wrist from constantly turning a brush, so is good if you suffer from arthritis or stiff joints. And I it's the only way I can get my coarse hair to look remotely smooth.Couldn't be without it, hope this one lasts longer!

Well worth the money!
Anything that can control my frizz is a winner and this does the job amazingly well! Easy to use once you get your head around the buttons.

Great product
Not so great is the Amazon tape right across the box so it covers all the instructions on the front and looks crap when giving as a gift.No protection around an electrical item isn't great either.
